Can CBD Help Horses, and if So, How Much CBD Should Horses Take?
Horse owners are turning to CBD as an alternative treatment for common equine medical conditions such as osteoarthritis, gastric ulcers, laminitis (hoof inflammation), and colic (abdominal pain).
Research on CBD’s effects on horses is limited. However, various human and animal studies have illustrated CBD’s anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, anti-anxiety, and antidepressant properties(1).
At present, there is no standardized CBD dosage for horses.
However, a common practice among CBD brands and other individuals seem to indicate that CBD dosing depends on the animals’ weight and the severity of the health issue faced.
